2006 Athletic Endowment Scholarships

Endowments help secure a bright future for the Colorado State University Department of Athletics by providing annual scholarship support generated from the interest earned from the principal gift. This support continues in perpetuity and provides an annual baseline of support for CSU Athletics.

The following is the list of current endowments benefiting CSU Athletics:

Dick Kitamura Memorial Scholarship Endowment	Scholarship support for a student participating on a varsity athletic team, with primary consideration to a member of the baseball team.
R. Carlson and Family Scholarship Endowment	Scholarship support for a student-athlete in good academic standing with primary consideration to a member of a men's varsity team.
John A. Fisher Memorial Scholarship Endowment	Intended for a student-athlete scholarship.
Adolph Coors Athletic Scholarship Endowment	Intended for a minority student-athlete scholarship.
Tom Kiely Memorial Scholarship Endowment	Scholarship support for a student-athlete from the College of Agricultural Sciences with a preference given to a horticulture major.
David Gormley Track Scholarship Endowment	Scholarship support for an outstanding student-athlete in Track and Field with preference given to a male upperclassman exhibiting above-average academic achievement.
Athletic Scholarship Endowment	Student-athlete scholarship support.
Lyle Stucker Memorial Scholarship Endowment	Scholarship support for an outstanding freshman student-athlete with preference given to a male.  Recipient must prove to have been an outstanding high school athlete, a student activities leader and good scholar in high school.
Merrill-Gheen Award Endowment	To offset annual cost of plaques, awards used to recognize special student-athlete achievement.
Jean Tramell Shepardson Scholarship in Athletics Endowment	To support women's athletics program through scholarships.
Luckasen Athletic Scholarship Endowment	For general athletic scholarship support awarded at the discretion of the Intercollegiate Athletics Department.
Ram Volleyball Network Scholarship Endowment	Scholarship support for an intercollegiate volleyball player at CSU.
Bill Day Memorial Scholarship Endowment	Scholarship support for a male student-athlete in good academic standing with preference given to a wrestler.
Jerry Jackson Endowed Scholarship	Golf scholarship for student-athlete pursuing a degree from the College of Agriculture.
Bart Tompkins Memorial Scholarship Endowment	Scholarship support for a student-athlete who is competing on the men's or women's intercollegiate golf teams.
Glenn & Mary Jon Chandler Family Scholarship Endowment-Intercollegiate Athletics	Scholarship support for a student-athlete with preference given to a Colorado resident with a 3.0 GPA of higher who demonstrates financial need.
Thurman F. "Fum" McGraw Memorial Scholarship Endowment	Scholarship support for a 5th year student-athlete who has completed their eligibility but has not yet graduated.
Vernon McHone Track and Field Memorial Scholarship Endowment	Scholarship support for student-athlete participating on the CSU Track and Field team who demonstrates community involvement with preference given to a Fort Collins High School graduate.
Chester "Chet" Smith Memorial Golf Scholarship Endowment	Scholarship support for a student-athlete competing on the intercollegiate golf teams with preference given to a men's team member.
Lewis J. and Jean Nelson Endowed Scholarship in Athletics	Scholarship support for a student-athlete in good academic standing who demonstrates a strong work ethic, good character and community service.
James R. Smith Athletic Scholarship Endowment	Scholarship support for a student-athlete from the Colllege of Business who participates on the CSU football or golf teams.
Robert and Jeanne Steinbach Scholarship Endowment	Scholarship support for student-athlete participating on the golf team.
Richard and Bernice Maycumber Scholarship Endowment	Scholarship support for a student-athlete participating on the Cross Country and/or Track and Field teams.
Robert Spike Baker Athletic Scholarship Endowment	Scholarship support for a member of the men's or women's intercollegiate golf teams at CSU.
Charles M. Henry Family Scholarship	Scholarship support for a student-athlete competing as a member of a CSU intercollegiate team.
Gary Ozzello Excellence in Journalism Award	To provide funding to pay an intern in the sports information office that shows the enthusiasm and professionalism displayed by Gary Ozzello.
